MSN MESSENGER LIVES!
Any child of the 90's will remember the first time they used a computer, the dial up connection tone and of course one of Microsoft's biggest successes. MSN Messenger (later Live Messenger). I for one have many happy memories of MSN and the conversations with people who you saw at school earlier the same day and would, no doubt see at school the next day. However that didn't stop you talking ... well that's if you can describe LOL, WUU2?, BRB, G2G as talking. I'll just call it communicating.
Fast forward to 2012 and everybody was using Facebook instead, I didn't use MSN and didn't know anybody who did. However the moment that Microsoft announced that MSN was to be discontinued and replaced with the newly acquired Skype was heartbreaking and caused riots in the streets lots of sad faced emoticons.
You may think that that's the end of the road for MSN, but you'd be mistaken. In fact MSN is not really dead and you can, once again use it to connect with your friends in defiance of Facebook and enjoy the little pop-up boxes.
Installing MSN Messenger
Obviously before installing anything, you should always perform a system backup.
You're going to need to download a tool called Messenger reviver from download.com - a trustworthy source run by Cnet. Then it's as simple as running the program and installing messenger through it. Don't install MSN as it's included in the tool.
Once it's installed you'll be greeted with MSN simply login and you'll be away. (NOTE: I came across a trouble message and I found that restarting my PC fixed this)
